Dr. Chris Pichon, President, has appointed a committee, chaired by Dr. Darwin Spiller, President-elect, for the selection of the TABSE Executive Director.  This role is integral in providing the necessary stability and continuity that greatly contributes to TABSE's on-going and sustainable success. The Executive Director serves as a liaison between TABSE and its local Affiliates, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

In accordance with the directives of the President, the Executive Director is tasked with executing his/her duties. Rather than dictating the affairs of TABSE, the Executive Director's role primarily involves offering advice to the officers and guiding them in their decision-making process.

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, ensuring alignment with TABSE's mission and goals while promoting innovation and growth.

Specific Responsibilities of TABSE Executive Director:

  • Collaborates with the President to coordinate Board and Alliance activities, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with TABSE's objectives.
  • Coordinates with external partners, stakeholders, and sponsors to secure resources and support for TABSE initiatives and events, fostering strong relationships and maximizing opportunities for collaboration and growth.
  • Provides support to all Executive Board members to ensure the effective fulfillment of the Alliance's duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensures all financial obligations are met promptly and accurately, maintaining the financial health of the organization.
  • Assists the conference chair in negotiating contracts and coordinating activities, while also overseeing the maintenance of the TABSE website to ensure it remains current and functional.
  • Guarantees full compliance with nonprofit status for both federal (990N) and state sales tax exemption, adhering to all relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Organizes and coordinates TABSE events, ensuring they are well-planned and executed to meet the expectations of participants and stakeholders.
  • Liaises with the NABSE Executive Director to organize the TABSE breakfast, vendor booth, and TABSE hospitality at both NABSE and TABSE conferences, fostering collaboration and networking opportunities.
  • Attends standard board meetings to provide updates, insights, and support in decision-making processes.
  • Promotes membership at the local, state, and national levels, actively engaging with respective organizations to stay informed about relevant developments, share insights, and foster meaningful connections within the broader educational community.
