Ms. Delores Warnell was born and raised in Orange, Texas and graduated from West-Orange Stark High School in 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Lamar University and her Master of Education in Educational Administration from University of Houston.
Ms. Warnell began her career teaching Language Arts in Cypress- Fairbanks ISD. Additionally, she taught in Cape Girardeau ISD in Missouri; Victoria ISD and Edna ISD in Texas. After spending eight years in the classroom, she served as an Education Specialist for Region 3 Education Service Center, before moving on to Bloomington ISD in 1998. In Bloomington, she served in several different administrative positions; Special Programs Director, Assessment Coordinator, Grant Coordinator, Curriculum Director and Principal at Bloomington Elementary School before being selected to fulfill the role of Superintendent in 2010.
In Bloomington, Ms. Warnell has devoted herself to building pride and a sense of community in the district. She is highly respected by her board, her colleagues, and community for her efforts in implementing 21st century learning standards to challenge students, to help develop their confidence and competence, and to help prepare them for success in the workplace. She is skilled in providing instructional leadership by modeling and advocating 21st century teaching practices and helping to integrate them into the curriculum.
Ms. Warnell currently is a trustee for the TASB Energy Cooperative and a TASA Mentor Superintendent. In her community, she serves as Treasurer for the Lions Club and a member of several other civic organizations.
Ms. Warnell has twin daughters, 22 year old Schuyler and Dresdynn Warnell, who attend University of Houston pursuing a degree in Communication Disorders to become Speech Pathologists. They are in their fourth year as a Houston Texan’s NFL Cheerleader.
